A charter member of Lauderdale Manor Church of the Nazarene in 1958 and a consistent woman of faith and service, Jaunita E. Purinton celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday, June 27. Friends, family and community representatives gathered at Pompano Beach First Church of the Nazarene, where she has been a member for the past 12 years, to honor her life. 168 Rescued from Child Sex Trafficking The FBI; its law enforcement partners; and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) recovered 168 children who were being victimized through prostitution and arrested 281 pimps on state and federal charges last month. Soroptimist International of Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach awarded checks to several local organizations whose missions benefit women and their families on May 20 at the Babione Chapel Community Room. Soroptimist President, Mariela Montgomery, together with Elke Schmidt, event chairperson,  presented the monetary awards to following charities and causes. The Florence Fuller Child Development Center assists in after school day care for 625 children.
