Terri Cunliffe Named CEO of Covenant

The board of directors of Chicago-based Covenant Retirement Communities has named Terri Cunliffe as its chief executive officer, effective June 1. Cunliffe, who has served as CRC’s COO since 2010 and has been part of the organization for more than 25 years, succeeds current CEO Rick Fisk. Calvary Christian Academy’s Coach of The Year Takes on New Role

After leading Calvary Christian Academy’s baseball team to the 4A Regional Championship game and being named Coach of the Year by the Sun-Sentinel, Miami Herald and the High School Baseball Network, Coach Gregg “Moose” Mucerino has accepted a position as head coach of the baseball program at Colorado Christian University. WASHINGTON—The U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide on June 26 in a sweeping, moralizing opinion written by Justice Anthony Kennedy. 4KIDS BiG Cardio Raises $200,000 to Help Kids in Crisis

The 8th Annual 4KIDS BiG Cardio presented by Ryder was a BiG success for kids in our community. The event kicked off National Foster Care Month with nearly 1,200 participants on Saturday, May 2nd. Because of all those who participated, and especially all of the sponsors, 4KIDS was able to shine a light on the foster care crisis. The program recognizes engaging yearbooks that reflect a broad representation of the student body while helping students develop 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration and information and communication technologies literacy. Hundreds Pitch In During Firewall Serve-A-Thon

On May 2nd, over 315 Firewall students, their mentors, staff, and volunteers completed service projects throughout Broward County as a part of the Serve-A-Thon. This annual event is intended to show students in the after-school program the importance of giving back to their community. Firewall students from Pompano Beach Middle, Blanche Ely High and Crystal Lake Middle cleaned up the outside area at Broward’s Children Center.
