Americans to pay for abortions

When the House passed the historic Senate version of health care reform, it opened the door for the federal government to pay for more abortions than at any time in history. Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., who had led the pro-life opposition, changed his vote after President Obama promised to sign an executive order said to place certain limits on abortion funding. Nonetheless, it is the first time in more than 30 years that the government has departed from its longstanding policy of not using federal dollars to directly pay for abortions. The bill allows for taxpayer funding of abortion, calls […]

For Christians, however, who are interested and on the hunt for enjoyable speculative fiction, this can be a daunting task. Christian speculative fiction, an umbrella term that covers anything related to science fiction, end times, post-apocalyptic, super-hero, vampires and time travel, written from a Christian perspective, has not been well-received over the years by many Christian publishers. Most publishers have chosen to play it safe, sticking […]

Encouragement for remarried couples

Sounds kind of depressing, doesn’t it? One of the biggest reasons these divorces happen is that when people remarry, they don’t prepare themselves as they should. They have been married before; they know how it’s done. Well, we ask, “How’s that […]

Majority of Americans view abortion as wrong

Experts debunk study claiming two moms better than Mom and Dad

A study in the Journal of Marriage and Family concludes that any set of two or more compatible parents are as good for children as a married, biological mother and father. In particular, lesbians, they claim, “seem to outparent comparable married, heterosexual, biological parents.” Glenn Stanton, director of family formation studies at Focus on the Family, debunks the findings. “They’re just completely overreaching their hand,” he said. “Are we to think that nature has really sent each one of us down a second-rate road of having to be raised by a man and a woman?” The research dismisses more than […]
