Westminster Academy Students Package 40,600 Meals For Those In Need

  Three Broward County ministries came together on December 18 to help serve the needy in South America, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The middle school students of Westminster Academy partnered with Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and Cross International in a major meal packing event. Firewall Center Students Pack Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child

  For the second year in a row, all 500+ Firewall Centers’ students and their Firewall Mentors participated in the Operation Christmas Child Project. They packed 113 shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies for children around the world who are affected by war, poverty, and natural disaster. Former NFL Star Jack Brewer Provides Aid to Puerto Rico and Haiti

A former NFL star who lives in South Florida has been instrumental in joining with The Outreach Program to provide meals to desperate families in Puerto Rico and Haiti through Food For The Poor. Through his foundation, Jack Brewer generously donated a portion of the 130,000 rice and bean meals that were delivered to the charity’s Coconut Creek warehouse. Twenty Talented Young Women with Disabilities Competed in a One-of-a Kind Pageant

The Village Square at Broward College hosted an excellent dialogue about how to help the homeless in Broward County on November 8. Panelists included Broward County Administrator Bertha Henry, Chief Executive Officer of HOPE South Florida, Dr. Ted Greer, Jr. and Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Jack Seiler.
