Rubio, Fiorina, and Cruz Up Among Evangelical Insiders

Republican Marco Rubio still holds a commanding lead in WORLD’s third evangelical insiders survey, but GOP rival Carly Fiorina is gaining ground on the heels of another standout debate performance. The findings are part of a monthly survey of 103 evangelical leaders and insiders, 91 of whom participated in September. The results are not scientific or representative of all evangelicals but offer a snapshot of how some well-connected evangelicals are leaning in the 2016 presidential election.   Fiorina This month’s survey took place in the days after the second GOP debate, and respondents clearly liked what they saw in […]

Reigniting Your Dream Beyond Mid-life

At a recent Go-DRREAM Workshop I hosted, I was amazed to find an audience of mostly 50 and 60-somethings waiting to learn how to reach their dreams. I should not have been surprised. After many years of moonlighting as a grant writer and evaluator, I left a full-time faculty position to dedicate my time to a research business my wife and I own. The business took off. So I was eager to hear answers to my opening question “What is your dream?” The answers were as diverse as the men and women themselves, who hailed from Central and South America, […]

Lessons on Leadership from the Life of King David

A godly father once told his son, a young pastor, to write down in his Bible the names of ten other young pastors like himself who were attending Bible College. As the years passed one by one, he drew a line through those young pastors who began well but left the ministry. Why do Christian leaders who love the Lord reach a day when they leave the ministry? What is the main cause? You may be surprised by the answer? Most would guess that moral failure was the main reason for ministry failure. It is tragic and destructive to the […]

Women Gather For Prayer Summit at Bailey Concert Hall

In 1998, God called a woman by the name of Janet Broling to gather women for a day of prayer at Madison Square Garden in NYC.  She wrote a book about this experience called “What Can One Woman Do”. As God planned it, Angela Santiago, who now resides in South Florida, was part of the worship choir for that prayer summit. Prior to that, God kept putting her in the company of women warriors, women who lived a life of prayer, and women who needed prayer. “I sensed God was birthing in me a new prayer life,” said Santiago. “He […]

Jesus Gone Viral –Acts 4:12 Day A Success

The official global launch of the first annual “Jesus Gone Viral-Acts 4:12 Day” and “Free Outreach Concert” that took place on Friday, August 28th, 2015 was an incredible experience. In spite of the weather and the threatened storm that did not come our way, a number of people came out to celebrate and lift up the name of Jesus. As the scripture makes it known in Acts 4:12 that there is salvation in no other name under heaven, that is reason to awaken awareness to this truth.  We thank all the gospel artists, attendees and sponsors as we begin planning […]

See You at the Pole Unites Students in Prayer

On Thursday, September 24, thirty minutes before school commenced, thousands of Christian students across southeast Florida gathered at their public school’s flagpoles to pray. The initiative was connected to the larger national “See You at the Pole” prayer movement. This year marked the 25th anniversary of this student-initiated and student-led movement. What started as one school in Burleson, Texas, in 1990 has now spread across the entire nation. UNITED was this year’s theme, inspired from Acts 1:14, where we learn “they all met together and were constantly UNITED in prayer.” Like the early church, students were united in prayer, interceding for […]
