Good News Wants to Know… What book do you recommend for Summer?

This summer many look forward to relaxing on the beach or by the pool with a good book. So this month, Good News Wants to Know… What is a book you would highly recommend and why? Also, what book are you looking forward to reading this summer?   As part of the Luis Palau National Women’s Prayer Team,  I am looking forward to reading Palau: A Life on Fire, scheduled for release June 4.  It is the spiritual memoir of Luis Palau – often referred to as the Latin Billy Graham.  Just days after being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer, Luis […]

Need Some Good News?

Since this publication is meant to be all about “good news,” I thought that I would share some timeless truths regarding good news with you today. Good News: God’s interest in you will always exceed your interest in Him. Even if your interest wanes, His attentiveness to you remains constant. God doesn’t just love you. If “just loving you” was His nature, then His love could wane as you become more unlovable. God is love. There is nothing you can do to cause Him to love you more, and there is nothing that you can refrain from doing that would […]

Rob Hoskins Honoring Our Fathers

I can’t think of a better way to honor my father than to share his incredible and inspiring story- Rob Hoskins. It’s a phenomenal story, really. My Dad, Bob Hoskins, has been tirelessly doing the Lord’s work for nearly 75 years — well beyond the age of retirement! As a seven-year-old boy, dad received a vision from the Lord and preached his first sermon just a few days later. His evangelistic outreaches as a boy brought thousands to Christ. His missionary journeys as a teenager launched new churches. Mom and Dad raised us in Lebanon, serving as missionaries in […]

The Magnitude of A Man

In the wake of the #MeToo Movement and the empowerment of women over the decades, it appears that the value and esteem of males are diminishing. Young women under 30 in 147 U.S. cities now out-earn our boys. Single young women are buying homes at the rate of two and a half times the rate of single men. In one generation, young men have gone from 61 percent of college educated to a projection of 39 percent. It’s the opposite for young women. Today young men between 25 and 31 are 66 percent more likely than their female counterparts to […]

Dads, The Heroes We Need Today

Father’s Day ought to be Hero’s Day. A day when the role we traditionally title as “dad” is celebrated so the next generation can see it for what it needs to be. It is time for each of us with children to enlist in the “I Want to Be A Dad Who’s A Hero” campaign. In generations past fathers were heroes. Their role was more easily defined. Dads provided security for the day and direction for the future. Fathers protected the family from the elements and enemies. They also had the chief responsibility to provide a philosophy of life for […]

‘Unplanned’ film banned in Canada

Martin M. Barillas Distribution companies are effectively banning the film Unplanned from screening in Canadian cinemas, according to the producers of the pro-life biopic. Speaking at an Ottawa news conference on May 8, producer Lisa Wheeler said, “We have been effectively blocked from distributing the film in Canada.” Chuck Konzelman, the film’s writer, director, and producer, told LifeSiteNews via email that at least one of the two largest Canadian film distributors said “content” rather than a lack of consumer demand is the reason for banning the film. According to Konzelman, Canadian law requires that films have distributors so that they […]
