United For Religious Freedom

On January 16, people nationwide will commemorate two important things: National Religious Freedom Day and Dr. Martin Luther King Day. In essence, these two are connected. Dr. King fought for racial equality and opportunity for all Americans to have equal rights, and National Religious Freedom Day is designed to acknowledge the free exercise of religion so that students and teachers can be comfortable sharing their beliefs. Discrimination, hatred and violence against those exercising their religion often generates negative news stories. It’s often been said that religion and politics are two topics to avoid simply because of the many differences someone […]

Will the US Embassy Be Moved to Jerusalem?

The United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Committee (UNESCO) recently attempted to deny the historical and biblical connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and, indeed, all the land of Israel, by referring to the Temple Mount and other Jewish holy sites only by their Muslim names. In response to this blatant denial of scripture, many Christians mailed Bibles to the agency’s headquarters in France.   Title Deed to the Temple Mount The Bibles sent to UNESCO had many scriptures highlighted such as where King David purchased the threshing floor of Arauna in Jerusalem and placed the tabernacle there; then […]

Remembering the Homeless Lost on Our Streets

This year, 88 homeless people in Broward County died on the streets or from conditions related to their homelessness. 88 people who have names, lived lives just like ours, and perished without anyone ever knowing. Their lives were commemorated at the Homeless Person’s Memorial on December 15th in a solemn but moving service at Hope Central in Fort Lauderdale, honoring each person who had perished. The organizers of this year’s Broward service, including Broward Health, Healthcare for the Homeless Consumer Advisory Board, […]

Pray, Engage and Vote

It’s inescapable. The fervor of political campaigning, speech making, debate, commentary, scandal and mudslinging – on both sides of the isle — is enough to make anyone want to escape to a deserted island, isolated from this impending election and the potential consequences for our nation. With our country seemingly more divided than ever and facing so many critical issues, we all long for a strong, proven leader with impeccable character who we can cast our vote for with confidence. Unfortunately, that perfect candidate does not exist… and never has. “All people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the […]

It was in the conference room at PBE […]

Jesus’ Rebuke of Three Cities

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light” (Isaiah 9:2). The common application of Isaiah 9:2 is a spiritual one in which the “people walking in darkness” are those who lived prior to Christ and without knowledge of his saving power. And while that is a valid spiritual application, this verse is actually referring to the people of a specific geographical area: the land of Zebulun and Naphtali, known as the Galilee of the Gentiles. Upon them a great light would shine when, according to Isaiah 6, “unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son […]

Close to 500,000 Christians Attend Together 2016 despite Overwhelming Heat

Together 2016 in Washington DC was an event to remember with as many as 500,000 Christians coming together for prayer and worship in the National Mall. Upon arrival, there was a line stretching well over half a mile full of believers waiting patiently to go through a government-enforced bag check. While walking past them, one could witness every kind of Christian: Protestants, Catholics, black, white, Asian, left-wing, right-wing, those preaching fire and brimstone, others handing out pamphlets about their sect; there were even a couple who were literally carrying crosses. The beautiful thing about it, though, was the fact that […]
