Polo of Boca Raton donates $127,700 to Lake Worth and Delray Beach charities

The Polo Club of Boca Raton demonstrated the power of true generosity recently by donating more than $126,700 to two local charities. In late May, Members and the Club’s COO made two check presentations – one for $63,773.95 to Delray Beach-based AVDA, Inc. (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) and one for $63,926.45 to Lake Worth-based Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. Representatives from each non-profit organization knew they were receiving a donation from Polo Club, as beneficiaries of the community’s inaugural “Polo Gives Back” Week. Volunteers Pack More Than 100,000 Meals to Help Children in Haiti

Nearly 300 starving children in Haiti will receive food every day for a year from Food For The Poor, thanks to volunteers who packed 101,088 lifesaving meals during the charity’s first Join The Pack event on June 4 at Advent Lutheran Church in Boca Raton. More than 500 volunteers from businesses, churches and community organizations participated in the event, which was held in partnership with Feed My Starving Children,  a Christian nonprofit organization that sends prepackaged meals to more than 70 countries. An outreach discipleship ministry, the 180 Project team has been hosting Church in the Park outreach events on Saturday evenings once a month in the Hollywood Arts Park since April. ChildNet held its annual Transitional Independent Living (TIL) Program Graduation ceremony and celebration at its Palm Beach County office on June 9. Camp Identify Students Serve at Hepzibah House

Forty-two students from Camp Identify participated in a camp-related service activity on June 23. The students painted, cleaned up debris, planted shrubs and cleaned. This group project was for a faith based nonprofit ministry called Hepzibah House located in Boynton Beach, Florida. Hepzibah House rehabilitates women who have been enslaved in the sex industry. During their season of abuse, many of the women also become addicted to alcohol and drugs.
