Community Church of God Founding Pastor Dr. James Curtis Eubanks Sr. and his wife of 58 years, Elder Diana O. Eubanks, will retire this August after leading the church and its congregation through steady growth. Bible Study Group Celebrates Christmas in July

Friends and family of the Calvary Chapel Plantation Women’s Bible study group, “The Thursday Night Chica’s,” gathered on Saturday, July 9th to pack more than 700 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. This bi-annual event has occurred for over 8 years. Yearly, the group commits to pack over 1,000 gift-filled boxes for children around the world.  July’s packing event surpassed other years by approximately 75 boxes, and in November they will gather again. Fishing Tournament Takes to the Waves for Foster Children

Open seas, smiling faces and the chance to haul in the ‘big catch’ greeted the fishermen of Place of Hope’s first Fish for Hope KDW (Kingfish, Dolphin Wahoo) Tournament on June 25. The new fundraising event welcomed 41 boats to Sailfish Marina, as competitors fished not only to win fantastic prizes, but also to support individual children in Place of Hope’s care. Senior Volunteers Saluted with exhibit in Town Center Art Gallery

The spirit of giving and a zest for life are reflected in the eyes of a special group of seniors photographed by local artist Hank Henley.
