A Message from the Front Lines of Child Welfare

As a part of the Christian community here in South Florida, I would imagine you’ve likely heard the name “4KIDS” over the years. Since 1997, 4KIDS has been changing the lives of kids and families in crisis. In fact, this year we’re celebrating 25 years and over 30,000 lives impacted!   God is at work for the vulnerable What I would also imagine is that you likely aren’t accustomed to hearing the latest stories and updates that come straight out of our community’s vulnerable population of children and families and how God is using His people to change those lives […]

Accident Victim Chooses Forgiveness over Bitterness

At Palm Beach Atlantic University, often the tables are turned as we educators learn from our students and alumni. On the Monday before Thanksgiving, we honored alumnus Carter Viss, who by his actions has taught us much about perseverance, forgiveness and letting God bring good out of tragedy. On Thanksgiving Day 2019, Carter was snorkeling near The Breakers resort on Palm Beach when a boat bore down on him. Its three propellers sliced into all four of his limbs, and Carter saw his severed right arm fall onto the reef below. He would have drowned, bled to death or died […]

What’s the most interesting documentary you’ve ever watched?

This month, Good News Wants to Know… What’s the most interesting documentary you’ve ever watched? My attention was amazingly arrested by the documentary/movie “ENEMIES WITHIN: THE CHURCH” (2021). The film powerfully calls the church to purge and purify itself from the poison of Marxism and the Social Justice Gospel. Bernard King Sr., Pastor, Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Michael Moore’s “Bowling for Columbine” forever changed the way I thought about gun control. Bob Denison, President, Denison Yachting A tough one for sure! To me a good documentary is measured in part on the impact it has on those who view it. I’ll […]

Avoiding Disputes, Litigation and Alternate Dispute Resolution

The Good News provides a monthly column with important content having to do with topics from the legal community. This month, William “Bill” C. Father Knows Best

“Kids rarely listen to their parents but seldom fail to imitate them.” Those words were on my mind shortly after the completion of our Tuesday night Bible study. That, in turn, shifted my attention to a very talented songwriter, singer and storyteller who left us during his prime. As talented as Harry was, it was difficult for his songs to be played on AM rock stations, since they were mostly stories that expanded beyond the usual 3 to 4-minute recording. They included such hits as “Taxi,” “A Better Place to Be” and “Mr. Tanner.” His most popular recording, released in […]
