Luncheon Raises Awareness Concerning Dementia and Alzheimer’s

The 4th Annual Alzheimer’s Luncheon recently took place at the Boca West Country Club, to benefit the Louis & Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Community Care.  This was the first event ever that all three of these organizations combined forces to raise funds and awareness concerning dementia and Alzheimer’s in our community.  Candy Cohn, CSA, owner of Oasis Senior Advisers South Florida, member of the Brain Bowl Steering Committee as well as one of the event’s sponsors, raised more than $1500 for the event.  […]

Place of Hope Staff to Educate Young People on Human Trafficking

  Place of Hope, Palm Beach County’s largest children’s organization; the Boca West Children’s Foundation; and other partners are fighting to interrupt the recruitment of more young people into the human trafficking system with another weapon – face-to-face education. With a $25,000 grant from the Foundation’s Dream Maker Society, Place of Hope added a Human Trafficking Prevention and Education Coordinator to its staff. Westminster Academy’s FIRST Robotics Team 744 Advocates for STEM Education

  On Tuesday, February 13, Westminster Academy’s FIRST Robotics Team 744 traveled to Tallahassee to participate in STEM Day at the Capitol with leaders from science centers and museums from around the state, the Orlando Science Center, and the Motorola Solutions Foundation. The team demonstrated their 2017 robot in the Capitol Rotunda and the Capitol Courtyard to an audience of state senators and representatives. The Westminster Academy High School Choir performed two shows at the Disney Candlelight Processional on Wednesday, December 6. The Candlelight Processional is a fifty-minute show at the America Gardens Theatre in Disney’s Epcot that presents the Christmas Story told through song and narrated by a celebrity guest narrator. Covenant House Sleep Out Raises $226,200 for Homeless Young People
